Homesite Maker 0.4.8 now available !

I'm glad to announce the availability of the new Homesite Maker version.
This new version solves an important bug affecting some new versions of the Image Magick convert tool.
Furthermore, the new version is more than a simple bug fix version since it has new features such as Bloglines and Google Reader add buttons, a new theme and some improvements in the default theme. |

The behavior of the convert tool (from the ImageMagick package) has changed. As a result, a numeric suffix is automatically added at the end of the thumbnail files. The problem has been detected with the ImageMagick 6.3.0 version.
To avoid more syntax problems with the convert utility, all the dependencies with this tool will be replaced with calls to the standard PHP gdLibrary (version2) functions. |

This version do not include new features but fix an important bug.
If you are running any previous version of Homesitemaker you need to fix it. To do it, upgrade the following files with the latest version available on the CVS server.
news.php
includes/dbwa.php
includes/languages/spanish/homesite-includes-login.php
This version is also available as a tarball in the download section. |

Yes, some Homesitemaker based sites has been "spammed" for the first time with automated comments. But don't worry about it.
The latest version of Homesitemaker includes a powerfull CAPTCHA system to ensure that all the comments sent to your site are done by humans.
On the other hand, this version solves a little bug regarding the comments. For more details you can see the ChangeLog file. |

HomesiteMaker 0.4.6 has been released today. For users running previous versions, you need to upgrade your HomesiteMaker database in order to upgrade to the new version. Please read the end of the "How to Install" document in order to know how to upgrade your database.
The 0.4.6 version solves some little bugs (see the ChangeLog to view the complete list of changes).
As you can see in the attached image, this new version introduces a new icon set in the Control Panel section. |

Another version of Home Site Maker (HSM) is ready to download.
The main feature added to the new version is that allows you to send news using WYSIWYG mode.
Now your users and visitors have no excuses to not send content to your site.
The next releases of HSM will be focused in the improvement of the Control Panel, in order to simplify the configuration of your HSM site.

The newest release of Homesitemaker (v0.4.4) includes the powerful and easy to use editor FCKeditor.
The FCKeditor toolbar is a complet WYSIWYG editor that allows you to add or modify the content of the info sections in a very easy way.
Now all the users, including thouse who doesn't know anything about HTML syntax, can add 'cool' content easily.

The new version (0.4.3) adds a new feature that allows you to modify the comments of the images belonging to an existing gallery. On the other hand, some little bugs have been fixed.
To see the complete list of changes, take a look to the ChangeLog file.
If you are running the 0.4.2 version and you want to upgrade your site to the new version (0.4.3), just overwrite the modified files (see ChangeLog file) of your Homesitemaker folder with the new ones. |

The newest release of Homesitemaker, version 0.4.2, is available now.
As always, a lot of bugs has been fixed. Furthermore, there are several visual improvements in this version:
-RSS feeds pass all the feedvalidator.org tests without errors.
-New skin/theme added (white_clouds).
-Allowing use of different skins and/or colors for every box.
-Modifying the default skin from 'aqua' to 'white_clouds'.
-Now, you can show borderless boxes.
-Allowing customized color boxes.
-You have more control to decide which boxes should be displayed or not.

The Home Site Maker project has been recently added to the http://savannah.nongnu.org development site, the central point for development, distribution and maintenance of Free Software.
The Home Site Maker 0.4.1 has been revised by the Savannah hackers to check the compliance with the Savannah hosting policies.
After some little changes regarding the license agreement, the project has been accepted inside the savannah.nongnu.org development site.
If you want to collaborate with us improving the Home Site Maker code, join with us into Savannah and take advantage of the facilities given by the Savannah web site.
